NEW for 2018: Marina resources are available to members only. This includes veterans participating in the free use program. Financial assistance or a waiver of dockage fees or other fees is still available to veterans on request. This financial arrangement is handled privately between the member and Tony Novak (856-237-9199) personally and is not shared with other members or marina staff.
Money Island Marina allows its extra unused boat slips and dry stock storage space to be used by veterans and volunteer fire fighters who have difficulty affording their boating hobby at a discount or free of charge. This offer is made subject to administration and discretion of the marina manager in the interest of providing the best possible experience for all of our guests.
This free use offer may be terminated if demand for paid boat slips increases (but this hasn’t ever happened yet). A lease is required but the price will be $0 and the time period will be unspecified.
Administrative policies of the free use program
1. New boaters at Money Island Marina using this free program are offered a a boat slip or a dry dock spot or with free ramp use at the discretion of the marina manager.
2. The free marina use program is meant for individuals who could not otherwise afford to pay for these services. Although we do not verify financial resources, we ask that those able to pay voluntarily excuse themselves from the free program. It is important to our financial survival that those who can afford to pay do so and those who can afford to pay a little more please consider supporting others who can not. The survival of the marina depends on our ability to recruit boaters who can pay for these services.
3. There is no assurance that this free program is permanent. The program is limited to extra unused space only. Free spaces will be offered to paying customers when possible.
4. We request that boaters using the free space program make a good faith effort to buy their gas and bait at the marina.
